Attic Insulation Rebate Programs
In an effort to encourage more energy-efficient homes, all levels of government, as well as some energy companies, are offering financial assistance for various home retrofits that include attic insulation.
Some of these programs, like Canada’s Greener Homes Grant, can subsidize your home upgrade by up to $5,000.
Canada Greener Homes Grant (Outside Ontario)
As part of the Government of Canada’s initiative, you have access to up to $5,000 to help you make energy-efficient retrofits to your home, including attic insulation.
CMHC Green Home Refund
CMHC Green Home offers a partial refund on the cost of mortgage loan insurance to homeowners who retrofit their homes for energy efficiency. Eligible applicants can receive a refund of up to 25% off of their premium.
Home Efficiency Rebate Plus (Ontario)
Ottawa homeowners can now receive up to $10,000 in rebates to perform efficiency upgrades on their home, like attic insulation.
This is offered through the Ontario’s Home Efficiency Rebate Plus (HER+) program, which provides up to $10,000 in rebates to help homeowners improve their homes’ energy efficiency and reduce their carbon footprint.
Better Homes Ottawa Loan Program
Ottawa homeowners can receive a zero or low-interest loan of up to $125,000 or 10% of the current value of their home to cover the cost of home energy upgrades such as attic insulation.
